Abbot Peter Eberle, O.S.B.(left), as Abbot President, presided over the election of Abbot Xavier on June 16.
Fr. Marc and Fr. Anthony led the choir singing the "Te Deum," the traditional hymn of thanksgiving.
Abbot Peter Eberle, O.S.B. read the Investiture Prayers and officially greeted the new Abbot before the altar.
One by one, each of the priests and brothers approached the new abbot before the altar and welcomed Abbot Xavier with the traditional monastic "Pax," the embrace of peace.
The community noted the historic moment of electing our second abbot with a group photo right after Abbot Xavier's official investiture and our Prayers of Thanksgiving.
